For cyclists, runners and walkers, the Northwest Arkansas Heritage Trail is a regional network of bicycle and pedestrian routes. Linking residents and visitors to the region’s history and culture, the Heritage Trail includes the Butterfield Stagecoach Route, Civil War troop movements and the Cherokee Trail of Tears. State parks offer hiking, biking and equestrian and mountain bike trails, as well as interpretive nature programs. Campsites and cabins are also available.
